Build the founding team

Afitpilot is a coaching platform for independent online fitness coaches. The premise, a little against the grain: coaches decide, AI assists. We're early — a solo founder plus a small committed team, incubated at BeCentral through We Are Founders, with the first paying coaches on board and real signs of revenue.

The honest version

These aren't normal internships and we won't pretend they are. There's no salary yet. What there is: a real seat on a very early team, ownership of a whole function, and the explicit intention that the people who build it early get paid and carry a stake as the product pays for itself. We'll put that in writing rather than leave it as a handshake.

If you want a 9-to-5 to tick a box on your CV, this will frustrate you. If you want to find out whether you can build a company from close to zero, keep reading.

Open roles

Two founding seats. Both Brussels-based, hybrid, out of BeCentral with the team.

Founding Full-Stack Builder, Design-Led

Own the whole feel of the product — and build it, across the stack.

  • Brussels (BeCentral), hybrid
  • Internship → early-team seat
  • Pre-salary, real upside

The problem you'd own

Afitpilot has two very different users in one product. The coach needs power, control, and speed across many athletes. The athlete needs something calm and simple that just tells them what to do today. Running underneath is an AI layer that suggests but never decides, so the coach always stays in charge.

Making that legible, fast, and genuinely good to use is one of the most interesting design problems in the product, and right now it's under-designed. You won't just draw the fix. You'll build it, across the stack.

What you'd own

  • The end-to-end experience for both coaches and athletes, and the reasoning behind every screen and every button. Nothing exists "just because."
  • Designing and building it. You work in our Nuxt/Vue front end, and you follow a feature into the backend (Firebase/Firestore, Python) when it needs it.
  • Simplifying. A lot of what exists works but is heavier than it should be. Your job is to make it obvious.
  • Figuring out how AI suggestions surface without stealing the coach's agency — a real and still unsolved UX question.

Who you are

  • You already build with AI dev tools — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, whatever your setup — and you ship fast with them. This is how we move.
  • Full-stack instincts with real taste. You design well and you code, and a change in the UI usually means a change in what's behind it.
  • Comfortable working the backend through prompting to start, and willing to get properly hands-on with the full stack over time.
  • You get sports. Vito and I are sports-science people; someone who trains, coaches, or thinks about the body will design this better.
  • Self-directed and opinionated. You'll push back on my decisions, and I want that.

How to apply

Don't just send a portfolio. Look at Afitpilot, pick one screen or one flow, and tell us what you'd change and why — and if you can, how you'd build it. Screens beat CVs.

Founding Growth & Distribution Builder

Build the growth engine that gets Afitpilot in front of the right coaches.

  • Brussels (BeCentral), hybrid
  • Internship → early-team seat
  • Pre-salary, real upside

What you'd own

Vito already runs our organic content — sports-science posts and Instagram reels three times a week, plus some coach outreach. You'd own the other half: getting the product in front of the right coaches and building the channels that make growth scale.

  • Reaching the independent online coaches who should be using Afitpilot — cold and warm, by DM, email, or call.
  • Communicating what the product actually does, so a coach immediately gets why it matters to them.
  • Running the funnel end to end: first contact, follow-up, trial, and turning trials into paying coaches.
  • Building the distribution channels we don't have yet — affiliate, referral, SEO, community — so growth stops depending on us chasing one coach at a time.
  • Telling me and Vito when you think we're wrong.

Who you are

  • You speak sports. You've studied sports science, coached, or trained seriously, so you understand coaches because you think like one.
  • You know how to make a product land. You can say the right thing to the right person so they get it fast.
  • Comfortable on a call and comfortable being told no.
  • You have opinions and you argue them. You question the plan; you don't wait to be told what to do.
  • You run your own week and ship without a manager hovering.

How to apply

Don't send a generic cover letter. Send a short note, and in it, find one coach or one channel you think we're missing and tell us why. That tells us more than a CV ever will.
