Ectomorphic Endomorph
Código:EcEn
Endomorphy dominant; ectomorphy greater than mesomorphy. The softer, lighter-boned build.
Descripción
The ectomorphic endomorph is fuller-figured without being heavily built. Endomorphy is the dominant component, but the frame is narrower and lighter than the balanced or mesomorphic endomorph. Bone breadths are average to small; limb girths corrected for fat are modest.
This type appears across a wide range of adult populations and is one of the most common female somatotypes in industrialised countries. It is also seen in adolescent boys before maturation completes, when fat accumulation can run ahead of musculoskeletal development.
Compared to the endomorphic mesomorph, this type carries similar relative fatness but on a less robust skeleton. Compared to the endomorphic ectomorph (its neighbour), endomorphy is dominant rather than ectomorphy: the body reads round-with-some-length rather than long-with-some-softness.
Resistance training is highly productive here, both because mesomorphy is low and has room to grow, and because increasing muscle improves the metabolic profile.
